I'm not dead. Really.
I keep telling myself, and you, my readers, that I am going to post more, and expand on so many ideas. I keep failing at this. I'll skip making such a meaningless promise tonight.
So long 2009. Good riddance.
I suppose this post is a little late, given the first day of the new year is over half over already. Oh well, I didn't get to bed until after 5am, woke up a little before noon, and the words are finally coming to me.
So, 2009. You provided some good memories, some loss, and has really just been a roller coaster of thrills. Or something. It was a good year for gaming. School has been rough, both semesters of the year. Lets hope 2010 is better.
But we all know about all that, why rehash it? On to the new news!
Coffee Bean Roasting!
As mentioned in the last post, I signed up for the Reddit Secret Santa gift exchange. I got green coffee beans as a result. Today, I made my first attempt at roasting them. I have documented the process photographically on flickr. Go look!
I have not ground the beans up yet, and brewed them, as my crappy blade grinder has vanished. This actually happened a long time ago, and I have no idea where it is. Time for a new burr grinder anyways!
Semester five complete! And Gifts!
It is just passed midnight on Friday morning. Fall semester has ended, and aside from one group paper to get in by 6pm today, I'm done until January. Well, sort of. I still have a bunch of stuff to get done over this break for next semester, but I at least have a little bit of breathing room.
Best laid plans ....
Come one! Come all! Let us look back at the plans and failures of the last few months.
Corrupted Youth
What is happening to our society? It seems every year, the collective intelligence and morality drops, as indifference rises. We are regularly hearing of people being wrongly targeted by our law enforcement officers using tasers, often to a lethal force. There are many that fight against this; they fight for justice and privacy and the rights outlined in our beloved Declaration of Independence and United States Constitution. But it can only go so far. There are only so many people willing to vocally fight.
So much work to do, so little time.
I'm avoiding doing real work that needs to get done. Its been a while since I've posted, and people start to bug me when my blog goes silent for too long.
I've added a twitter feed, which you can see to the right. I'll probably start using it with more gusto eventually, right now, I'm not sure what purpose its going to take.
Pardon the minor remodeling...
nulldomain has again been updated. New theme, cleaned of spam, and ready to do more stuff. I just spent some indeterminate amount of time cleanup up spam accounts and comment spam. I've also changed a few things that I hope will help cut down on the spam. We'll see what happens.
The goggles, they do nothing.
I never admitted to being a committed blogger. I'll still never admit it. Heck, the word blog still annoys the hell out of me. Maybe thats why I don't post enough. Doesn't matter...
So, some of you may be wondering what the hell I've been up to since the last post was, well, posted. Some of you could probably care less. Now you get to find out. Lucky you.
Simplicity
Wow. It's been nearly 4 months without an update.
Time tends to move way to fast when you barely have time to breathe.
We are about 2/3rds the way through this semester and rapidly approaching finals. Overall, this semester hasn't been too bad, but due to school and work, I've been nearly pushed to the limit a couple times. I need to find a better way of managing my time and managing life.
